Bishop’s Office

Welcome to the Bishop’s Office

The Bishop’s Office is overseen by the Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, with day-to-day affairs managed by the Diocesan Secretary and a management team of the heads of the departments and units and the archdeacons.

The bishop is Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku and the diocesan secretary is Rev. Ven. Walina Nelson.

It is the duty of the Bishop’s Office to ensure the implementation of resolutions adopted by the Diocesan Synod.

The Bishop’s Office has five directorates through which the coordination of ministry throughout all the archdeaconries and parishes is handled.

The following programs and projects are currently being run by the Bishop’s Office:

  • The Orphans and Vulnerable Children project, which supports 342 children with school fees and scholastic materials
  • SRD Trinity SACCO, which provides loans and retirement benefits for church staff
  • A discipleship movement aiming to make every church member a disciple who makes more disciples
  • A ministry supporting Muslim-background believers
