Its main activity is initiating income-generating investments.
This directorate oversees the SRD Trinity Sacco and works with Messiah Radio. It also led the creation of our ten-year strategic plan in 2021.
The Young and Powerful Initiative, the diocese’s development arm, is also under this directorate.
The director of planning, development and rehabilitation is Chrispus Mbauta.
Estates
The estates unit has overseen a number of developments with potential for income generation. These developments include the following:
A hostel which accommodates 75 students with beds, mattresses and bed sheets.
A 200-people capacity conference hall for seminars, workshops, youth services and catering services.
A guesthouse that accommodates at least 8 people. This has been renovated to provide 5 ensuite rooms plus a multi-bedded room, making it suitable for visiting groups and individuals, and providing a source of income. Further rooms in guest cottages are planned. It can also be used for holding meetings and workshops for at least 20 people.
A Liturgical Resource Centre that includes Rightside Bookshop, established to generate income for the Diocese.
Shepherd House project, a building with Rental rooms at Mukirania Street in Kasese Town.
