Churches Reopen for In-Person Services

After President Yoweri Museveni announced a loosening of COVID-19 restrictions on Wednesday, churches in South Rwenzori Diocese reopened for in-person services on Sunday. At St. Paul’s Cathedral in Kasese, the atmosphere was joyful as hundreds of people gathered to worship, pray, and take communion together, while still keeping their distance and wearing masks. In his sermon, Bishop Nason Baluku encouraged churchgoers to recognize how much God has done for them in the last year and a half, even through the challenges of lockdowns and economic insecurity.
