South Rwenzori Diocese champions the food security program by supplying cassava stem cuttings to the people of Kasese district.

This is in fulfillment of the Diocesan 10-year strategic plan that emphasizes on food security and poverty eradication from the community by 2030. So far 11 parishes in the diocese from different parts of the district have benefited from the project.

South Rwenzori Diocese covers the entire district of Kasese and thus every resident is eligible of benefiting from all the Diocesan programs.

Residents of Kyondo Sub County were happy for the donation describing it a life saver since they were hit by mudslides in May, 2024. This incident left many homeless and many gardens were swept off.
