Close to four years of operating under dilapidated semi permanent wooden structures, Mr. Tom, the Team leader from Classroom For Africa said they value education most and that was the reason to why they support learning institutions (church founded) by constructing classrooms to create comfortable learning – teaching environment for both the teachers and the learners. This followed the submission by the Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese to have the school put on standard.
Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku explained to the delegation from Classroom For Africa, students, the teachers and a section of Christians who had gathered to witness the commissioning exercise that the journey and dream to have a Secondary School established at St. Paul’s Cathedral Hill in Kasese started about 40 years ago with an aim of bringing educational services nearer to the people.
The construction works for a permanent three classroom block at St. Paul’s Vocational Secondary School commenced on January 13, 2023 (ground breaking activity) and it was estimated at a tune of Uganda Shillings 93,871,500 of which Uganda Shillings 75,000,000 was a donation from Classroom For Africa while the Uganda Shillings 18,871,500 was a contribution from the community.
This Classroom Block has been considered a blessing and a great achievement to the education standards and performance of learners at the institution.
