KASESE DISTRICT LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND KASESE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL WELCOMES THE RETIRED ARCHBISHOP OF THE CHURCH OF UGANDA, THE RT. REV. DR. HENRY LUKE OROMBI.

Archbishop Orombi who visited the two Local Government units is in South Rwenzori Diocese that covers the entire district of Kasese for the Diocesan Great Mission that commenced on Monday November 13, 2023 and will end on Sunday November 19, 2023. It is held under a theme; “Where Are You?” a text from Genesis 3: 9 – 11.

During his pastoral visit to the two Local government units of Kasese District Local Government and Kasese Municipal Council, Dr. Orombi asked the leaders to cease resorting to witch doctors and instead focus on holding their offices responsibly. He said one can attract curses through consulting witch doctors for governance which might also pass on to their families and their generations.

The Rt. Rev. Orombi emphasized the need for the leaders to desist from shifting blames but instead assume responsibility for actions and inaction.

He also emphasized the need for the people of Kasese to embrace Jesus Christ and allow him lead their way, adding that this will go along a way in bringing peace in the community. He also implored the people of Kasese to entrust their challenges to God well aware that he will enable them overcome their problems.

Kasese district leaders including Mr. Eliphaz Muhindi Bukombi, the Kasese District Chairperson and Mr. Zedekiya Kayiri, the Deputy Town Clerk for Kasese Municipal Council described the 2023 South Rwenzori Diocesan Great Mission as a “Blessing” to them and expressed their gratitude to the Archbishop’s visit and particularly their places of work. They said that his visit to the district will not only leave the staff of the two local government units but also the people of the entire district the same.

Mr. Zedekiya Kayiri asked religious leaders to arrange days to speak and minister to their staff at their places of work, saying they face a variety of challenges that need spiritual intervention at their work places.
