Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku hands over a well-furnished building to a 42-year-old disabled single mother of two and her weak father.

A 42-year-old woman from Kyanya Upper cell in Ibanda – Kyanya Town Council, Busongora County North has a reason to smile after the Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku of South Rwenzori Diocese handed her a well-furnished self-contained house with a separate room for her weak father.

Jemima Kabugho, a physically disabled single mother of two was surprised by the bishop’s swift action of ensuring transformed and health living environment of the single mother.

Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku during his pastoral visit to All Saints Kyanya Church of Uganda parish last year (2024), interacted with Kabugho and was touched by her story.

He said its was upon their interaction that he pledged to set up a house that would accommodate her status as well improving her health.

According to him, it was a shared responsibility of the church, government and the community among others to cater for the well being of such persons with disabilities.

Daniel Baluku Dingyi, the father to Jemima Kabugho expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the bishop and other supporters for choosing his daughter among many, adding that the newly constructed house has restored their hope as a family.

In her maiden speech, Jemima Kabugho revealed that she could not believe that the newly constructed house, self contained with a room separate for her father now belongs to her.

She however, asked well wishers to also support her in educating her son who is in Senior Three to achieve his dream.
